Top 5 Crazy Cool Android Tips, Tricks & Secrets


Android has become the mobile OS of the masses. Despite the iPhone’s formidable competition and market share, Android devices continue to stay relevant and popular. Android runs like a mobile desktop and there is a variety of great tools and apps available, which is why it’s the favored OS of the more technically-inclined users. Android continues to evolve, so if you have an Android device and want to learn some crazy cool Android tips, tricks and secrets, read on.

Disable Your App Notifications
Notifications are great for things you want to be reminded of, but because of how notifications work, your phone is barraged with incessant messages from your various apps. To turn off your notifications is simple:
Press and hold your Notifications Bar to open a message pop-up.
Press App Info > Uncheck Show
Notifications > Press OK .

Disable OS Animations
Although many Android devices run smoothly, there are times when you can get some lag. One trick to make the OS run a bit smoother is to turn off the Android animations. This will conserve CPU usage to allocate the newly-freed memory for running multiple apps. And do you really need to see those subtle animations?
Go to Settings or About Device and press Developer Options. (Depending on your device model, you may have to enable the Developer Options by tapping through Build Number until you get a “You are now a developer!” message.
Once in Developer Options, find and individually disable Window Animation Scale , Transition Animation Scale ,
Animator Duration Scale .

NO! Stupid Autocorrect!
We’ve all had those annoying or embarrassing Autocorrect moments. If you find yourself getting annoyed or embarrassed by Autocorrect more often than not, then it’s time to disable Autocorrect. Go to Settings > Language & Input and press the Keyboard Settings. Tap
Auto Correct > Off . Voila!

Get Organized with Folders
If you have a ton of app shortcuts on your
homescreen, it can be frustrating trying to find the one you want quickly. So clean it up and get organized by using Folders . Simply press and hold any app shortcut and drag it onto another shortcut. This creates a Folder. Now pull all relevant apps into their respective new folders. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Check for System Updates
Performing system updates is one of the most important things you can do for your Android device. This ensures that your OS is up-to-date with the latest patches, etc. to protect your device from being hacked, fix previous OS bugs and more. Here’s how to check for any system updates:
Go to Setting > About Device .
Press System Updates > Check Now .
