WhatsApp Video Calling is Now Official, Upgrade Your WhatsApp to Enjoy it

We’ve waited for it for a very long time and now we have it available on all platform. WhatsApp officially announced the roll out of video calling features to all WhatsApp users.

The video calling features was released for beta testers some weeks ago and now it is available for every one to use.

WhatsApp announced this earlier on their blog … "We’re introducing this feature because we know that sometimes voice and text just aren’t enough. There’s no substitute for watching your grandchild take her first steps, or seeing your daughter’s face while she’s studying abroad."

Some of WhatsApp's rivals have had video calling for a while now -- Viber, Hangouts, and Facebook Messenger have had that for a while now. It's good to see WhatsApp joining the party!

I’ve tried the video call feature and its cool… So if you still have the old versions of whatsapp on your device, codedly go to Google Playstore and update it to enjoy the video calling features.

Tell us your experience once you test it.

Few hours back, WhatsApp began rolling out Video calling features to some beta testers and I’m pretty sure before today ends, a lot of beta testers will be rocking WhatsApp video calling.

As long as you are a beta tester, you only need to update your WhatsApp if available to the latest beta version and you should be sure to receive the video calling features.

None beta testers should breathe easy up till the main update gets to Google Playstore.

Note that it went live only after updating to latest WhatsApp 2.16.318 Beta. Works only when both caller and receiver have latest beta version installed.

Google Duo video calling is what we are using for a while to make video calls, but I know far more people who use Whatsapp than Duo. Now that Whatsapp video calling is live, hope you guys won't move Duo to wastebasket?

Make Video Calls With The New Google Launched App - Duo

Google released its new video chat app called Duo, at Google I/O in May and rolls out globally on Android and iOS and now, it is almost ready for downloading.

Duo is a one-to-one video calling app for everyone – designed to be simple, reliable and fun, so you never miss a moment. Some of its selling points are its simple interface, end-to-end encryption, and the fact that it works seamlessly even with poor network connections. It's mobile only, there is no desktop app or web version and operates on both iOS and Android.

Features

» Simple interface: Pick a loved one and jump right in, with a simple interface that brings video to the forefront.
» Knock Knock: See the caller before you answer with Duo’s live preview feature.
» High-quality video: Experience faster and more reliable video calls whether you’re on Wi-Fi or on-the-go.

Facebook replied blackberry users..(see their reply)

Facebook recently announced that they won't be available on blackberry operating systems soon and later compounded the issue by also stating that WhatsApp will no longer be available to BlackBerry users also.

Remember Mark Zukerberg is the owner of both Facebook and WhatsApp so he is carrying out the decision at the same time. This has made so many BB users to drop their phone already and run to Android and iOS devices.

After many yarns and cries on the internet by blackberry users for Facebook to withdraw the planned action, they were given another blow but for me I think it's better than non. Facebook will now make a web base Facebook for BlackBerry users in place of the normal Facebook Android app.
Meanwhile, only latest BlackBerry Priv is allowed to continue using Facebook app.

According to the statement
“The experience will be slightly different, but you’ll still get the same Facebook features you love. And, of course the full Android Facebook app is available on the Priv by BlackBerry.

Our fans are fighting for us (#WeAreBlackBerry), and we love their support (#ILoveBB10Apps). That’s why we have worked hard with Facebook to address some technical challenges and the best solution was to move forward with a Web-based app.”

Like I said, half bread is better than non. So my BB friends, kindly manage the web base Facebook . what do you think about this?
